Hi! My name is Carmen. I am 16-years-old and I like to think I know about fashion.
Fashion has a lot of sides to it. Design, editorial, marketing, sewing, and styling are just some of the many.
I've personally always been into the styling side of fashion, and by that, I mean scrolling through Pinterest or Vogue and doing A LOT of shopping. But recently during this quarantine, I've expanded a little bit.
My parents bought me a sewing machine for my birthday, so I began upcycling a lot of old clothes. I went through a lot of failed projects and wasted garments but in these past months, I've gotten a little better.
Once I started sewing, I inevitably started designing. I have a drawing background so learning the anatomy of fashion models wasn't too hard. Still, designing is an amazing outlet for creativity. When designing the end goal for someone is to complete the project and be able to see it on a model or yourself. That was kinda an issue for me. Projects are EXPENSIVE, and you need a lot more skills in sewing and construction than I currently have. But that will not stop me from hopefully (cross my fingers) completing my first ever project! and maybe collection.
In this blog, I will share fashion tips, sustainability, the best trends, and take you along my own fashion journey. I'll tell you about my favorite courses, podcasts, youtube channels, magazines, etc. I'll try my best to keep you posted on everything I learn, my challenges, and my process!
